REGROUP When Needed
When our home has gotten out of control, we do what we call a regroup.
Every 3 or 4 months we do a major overhaul of the house. In
the interim, as the planner, purge, and scheduling queen, I sometimes fail to
plan and fall on my face.
With a hubby who works rotating shifts, it's hard to know when
I can use the vacuum. And with two teens living at home and in sports, I'm
in the car, in the kitchen, at the grocery store, driving to a sports event,
etc.
So if you can at least set up a separate place for laundry that
has just come out of the dryer, you can attempt to put up laundry in
the morning and hopefully put it to the dryer before you leave if you have to
work outside the home, then at night put it in the clean laundry place. On
the weekends fold in front of a movie.
I do a multitask each morning. It's the only way for me. I put
up the coffee. While it's brewing I put up laundry if need be. I then
feed the dog, put toast in the toaster, get any laundry that is dirty
and NOT in the laundry room, into the laundry room, go back to the kitchen,
if need be do some dishes, butter toast, get coffee just the way I like it
and head to my office.
I now have a refrigerator in my office because I forget to eat
sometimes. But severe food allergies make eating no fun. So I have to plan
a grocery store trip each week to stock up on things that don't make me
sick and won't kill me. LOL
FIND A BUDDY! My favorite thing to say. God didn't make us to
be alone. I am what we call a recovering Type A Compulsive (take test here:
http://thebusywoman.com/personality ) and then find a friend
who is a Type A and ask her to be your buddy. And it's fun to reciprocate too!
You can go to her house to keep her company. She probably won't let you
help fold the laundry. heeheehee
So...
Allow yourself regroup times when things get overwhelming.
Allow yourself to have help.
Allow yourself to multitask.
Allow yourself to enjoy life even if the house isn't clean.
Blessings
and Peace,
"Susie"
